Organisation Outline:
The Soil and Groundwater Technology Association (SAGTA) is a non-profit making association of member organisations drawn from UK companies representing many of the major industry sectors. Its members actively address technical challenges associated with the management of landholdings which are potentially contaminated. A key component of the Association's activities is regular dialogue with representatives from the policy makers, regulatory agencies and local authorities to facilitate a common understanding of the issues. As well as dealing with contamination from past activities, the members of the Association also pay attention to the introduction and use of best practice methods to prevent land being contaminated in the future. The Association has also been proactive in responding, when invited, to many aspects of proposed technical policy in the UK. Members have shared in the peer review consultation process on numerous matters.
