Long description: This report is an overview document of Fe0 PRB technology aimed at those individuals with an interest in the use of cost effective and low energy technologies to manage contaminated land. The purpose of the Monkstown PRB was to remediate a chlorinated solvent groundwater plume using a cost effective remediation technology with a low energy input and low level maintenance requirements. The purpose of this report is to describe the environmental conditions that led to the installation of the Fe0 PRB system and to provide an objective assessment of the performance of the technology.
