Short description: The European Commission has produced a strategy for the sustainable use of natural resources used in Europe. The aim is to reduce the environmental impacts associated with resource use and to do so in a growing economy, in other words to uncouple economic growth from increased resource consumption. Focusing on the environmental impacts of resource use will be a decisive factor in helping the EU achieve sustainable development.
