The SNOWMAN Network is a transnational group of research funding organizations and administrations in the field of Soil and Groundwater in Europe.
SNOWMAN started as an ERA NET but has been a self-sustaining and independent network for more than 3 years now.
The scope is broadening since the 3rd Call.
The main research themes are soil and agriculture/forestry, soil and climate change, ecosystem services and soil contamination. For the development of
knowledge the SNOWMAN network runs calls of which the topics arise from the mutual research programme. The fourth call is launched on September 18th (1,8M Euro
common pot from 7 funding organisations) and will be on the relation between natural scientific aspects of soil and social and economic aspects of soil by integrating
natural social and economic science perspectives on soil research.
