The UK Environment Agency is consulting on the Model Procedures for the Management of Land Contamination (CLR11).
The purpose of this consultation is to provide an opportunity for interested parties to comment on this draft
of the Model Procedures prior to their publication. Responses received will be collated and used to finalise
this document prior to its publication.
The Model Procedures will be a joint DEFRA / Environment Agency publication. They aim to provide a risk based
framework to inform decisions when dealing with land affected by contamination. This risk management framework
may be considered to have three components, namely risk assessment, options appraisal and implementation of
the risk management options. The procedures presented are supported with an information map to key technical
publications that are relevant to this risk management process.
The consultation document - Model Procedures for the Management of Land Contamination - is available on line
at http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/you ... or from the National Groundwater and
Contaminated Land Centre.
The consultation will remain open until Friday 21 November 2003. All responses should be sent preferably by
email to theresa.kearney@environment-agency.gov.uk. Alternatively written replies should be sent to Dr Theresa
Kearney, Environment Agency, National Groundwater & Contaminated Land Centre, Olton Court, 10 Warwick Road,
Olton, Solihull B92 7HX, England.
