The SNOWMAN funded research projects MUSA and SUMATECS recently announced their planning for two workshops in September 2008:

From Monday, 22.09.2008, to Tuesday, 23.09.2008, the MUSA project will arrange an interactive workshop focusing on the current status of and future perspectives for the multiple scale assessment of contaminated sites and the development of decision-support systems based on an integrated LCA (Life-Cyle-Assessment) and ERA (Ecological-Risk-Assessment) approach. This workshop has also been announced via the EUGRIS 'training' pages (http://www.eugris.info/DisplayTrainin ... and will take place at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam/the Netherlands.

On Thursday, 18.09.2008, the SUMATECS project will start their international workshop on 'Sustainable management of trace element contaminated soils: the pros and cons of gentle remediation'. Wrap-up of SNOWMAN's Consoil 2008 participation now available online

The 10th ConSoil Conference took place from 03.-06. June 2008 in Milan. And the SNOWMAN ERA-Net has been presented at Consoil in the different roles it plays: An ERA-Net project funded by the EU Commission to support the development of the European Research Area, a successful initiative aiming to launch a second trans-national call for research in January 2009, and a funder of 5 joint research projects in Europe.

While the first two roles have been played by SNOWMAN itself during its Consoil Special Session, the latter has been introduced by the funded researchers themselves.

Furthermore, SNOWMAN got the chance to inform a broader audience by presentations during the NICOLE and EURODEMO sessions.

An extra section has been included into this homepage to inform about SNWOMAN's participation of Consoil in more detail. You will also find here downloadable presentations from the SNOWMAN
Special Session
, and also the Consoil presentations of the SNOWMAN funded research
