1 September is the last deadline in 2004 to submit applications for support   
under the NATO Security Through Science Programme. See the notes for   
applicants and download the application forms for the following grants and   
apply right away:  
  
      Collaborative grants in priority research areas  
  
*  Collaborative Linkage Grants: to pool ideas and resources on research   
projects, and create specialist networks  
  
*  Expert Visits: grants to allow the transfer of expertise in an area of   
research  
  
*  Advanced Study Institutes: grants to organize high-level tutorial courses   
to convey the latest developments in a subject to an advanced-level   
audience  
  
*  Advanced Research Workshops: grants to organize expert workshops   
where an intense but informal exchange of views at the frontiers of a   
subject aims at identifying directions for future action   
  
*   Science for Peace projects:  grants to collaborate on multi-year applied   
R&D projects in Partner or Mediterranean Dialogue countries.   
  
*   Reintegration Grants: to allow young scientists working in NATO   
countries abroad to return and reintegrate into the research communities   
of their home countries.  
  
*    Computer networking support for Partner countries  
  
*   Networking Infrastructure Grants: to assist Partner-country research   
institutions to improve the level and quality of their telecommunication   
facilities;  
  
*  Advanced Networking Workshops: grants to organize either policy   
workshops to increase harmonization of network policy at national and   
international level, or training workshops to extend the knowledge of   
qualified network managers.
