This is a short article about CL:AIRE's Code of Practice initiative for the Development Industry, known as the “DOW-COP”.  
  
The DOW-COP's purpose is to set out good practice for the development industry to use when assessing whether excavated materials are classified as waste 
or not, and applies in England and Wales.
