Project objectives:
The Centre of Excellence for Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology is based on the activities of RECETOX (Research centre for Environmental Chemistry
and EcoTOXicology), Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. The main scientific and research activities of RECETOX are focused on environmental chemistry,
ecotoxicology and risk assessment with special attention to persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances (PBTs). Based on this research and educative
activities, programmes and projects of RECETOX, the European and regional scientific networks concerning to PBTs will be organized and as a part of networks
activities the exchange of staffs and students will be organize and thematic conferences, special workshops and summer school will be prepared. The specific
attention will be done to the regional studies concerning to PBTs and to the development of special environmental database. The basic scientific topic of RECETOX
is the study of relationships between environmental occurrence and levels of various types of pollutants (mainly persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic
- PBTs).
Project Summary:
The proposed Centre of Excellence for Environmental chemistry and Ecotoxicology RECETOX (Research Centre for Environmental Chemistry and EcoTOXicology)
, Masaryk university, Brno, Czech Republic is oriented at the field of environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology and risk assessment. The long-term environmental
research projects are aimed at understanding of the fate of selected organic pollutants in the environment and at the study of relationships between environmental
contamination by these pollutants and their biological effects. Based on this research and educational activities, the European and regional scientificnetwork
will be organized and as a part of network activities the exchange of staff and students will be organized and thematic conferences and workshops will be prepared.
The specific attention will be paid to regional scientific studies focused on persistent, toxic substances.
