STARNET is a Network that brings together a range of experts from different disciplines and with different backgrounds to consider S/S within the broader context 
of hazardous waste and contaminated land management in the UK, in order to critically evaluate the current and future role of S/S technologies. It provides
an effective source of information on the latest developments in S/S technologies. STARNET promotes the use of S/S technologies by supporting industrial developments and applications and aims to identify knowledge gaps and research needs
and assist with the development of new collaborative research teams, of academics, industrialists and regulators, to produce high quality multi-disciplinary
research proposals. STARNET works in parallel with existing activities and acts as a link between the various activities in this field and related fields to ensure adequate dissemination
of information and facilitate collaboration. The key scientific and technical issues for S/S technologies addressed by the Network include: (a) binder selection (b) technology selection (c) testing and performance level (d) long-term performance and environmental impact (e) quality assurance and quality control issues (f) good practice guidance documents The site has links to: List of core and extended members; relevant publications; conference announcements; STARNET activities (workshops/conferences);
